Terms Of Service.

Club Rules

These Rules and Regulations are adopted by the Owner (as such term is defined in the Sound Union Bylaws) in accordance with the company Bylaws. It is the intention of the company to limit these Rules and Regulations to the minimum required for the mutual enjoyment of Sound Union facilities by its Members and their Guests. The obligation of enforcing these Rules and Regulations for the good of all Members is placed primarily in the hands of a carefully selected and trained staff. Their principal responsibility is to assure members of all the courtesies, comforts, and service to which you, as a Member in good standing, are entitled. It is furthermore the duty of the Membership to know these Rules and Regulations and to cooperate with Sound Union staff in their enforcement.

Members are asked to report any violation of the Rules and Regulations. Members violating these Rules and Regulations are subject to such action as deemed necessary in accordance with the company Bylaws. Continued violation of the Rules and Regulations may lead to suspension and ultimate expulsion as provided in the company Bylaws.

GENERAL POLICIES

Sound Level:
In consideration of the comfort and enjoyment of other members and building tenants, the decibel level is not allowed to exceed 85 dB while playing, performing, and rehearsing music on the Sound Union Premises. Each studio and performance space is equipped with a visible decibel meter to indicate sound level. Members who repeatedly exceed acceptable sound levels are subject to having their membership revoked.

Children:
Dependent children of Sound Union Members between 12 and 18 years of age may use any of the Sound Union Studios provided that they are properly supervised by a parent (or other adult Member). Children participating in Sound Union sponsored programs under the supervision of Sound Union employees need not be supervised by a parent while engaged in such activity.

Children under 21 years of age are not permitted in the main bar and lounge during operating hours of 6:00 p.m. through 12:00 a.m.

Sound Union Entry:
All Members, including dependent children, are asked to show their Membership cards and register at the reception desk prior to using the Sound Union facility. By showing your card each time you use the facility, you help the staff to learn your name and help us prevent non-Members from using the facilities.

Studio Reservations:
Reservations are strongly recommended.

All Sound Union rehearsal studios are available on a first come, first served basis.

For the health and safety of Members and Guests, at no time can food or beverages be brought onto the premises other than that purchased by Sound Union from approved suppliers. No food is allowed in the rehearsal and podcast studios. Beverages from our Sound Union bar are allowed.

As a courtesy to fellow Members, Sound Union rehearsal studio reservations can only be made in advance. Reservations may be made through our reception desk or mobile app. If you wish to cancel a studio reservation, please give the reception desk 24 hours notice as a courtesy to other members; otherwise, your reservation will count toward your monthly credit of 12-hours rehearsal time.

A reservation will be held for 15 minutes after the initial reservation time. If you do not arrive within 15 minutes, you will lose your reservation, the time may be given to another Member and your reservation may be counted towards your 12-hour allotment.

Mobile Phones:
For the comfort and enjoyment of your fellow Members, use of mobile phones are not permitted during house concerts, and during workshops and clinics.

Gratuities: (Tipping)
We are committed to equitable pay for all Sound Union staff. Therefore, tipping to any Sound Union employee is prohibited and will cause immediate disciplinary action to the employee accepting such a tip.

While the Sound Union is an exclusive club, we encourage Members to introduce their friends and associates to Sound Union.

Guests may use the facilities, but only if accompanied by a Member. In the event that the Member can not accompany the guest to use the facilities, the Member has to write an authorization letter to the Hospitality Manager in advance to get approval to allow the guest to use the facilities. Annual membership includes the allowance for 2 free guest entrances per member per month. Prospective members may purchase guest day passes at the reception desk.

When a Member has no free guest passes available, a guest fee will be charged for entertaining a guest in the Sound Union lounge or rehearsal studios. No guest fee will be charged for children 18 years old and under. Members are responsible for Guest’s actions and liable for any incidents.
